Terms & Conditions
Last updated 7 November 2026. These terms apply to usa.beincareer.com.
1. Accepting these terms
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
2. Not legal or immigration advice
This is the most important term on the page.
Everything on this site is general information. It is not legal advice, not immigration advice, not tax advice and not financial advice. Reading it does not create an attorney–client relationship or any other professional relationship between you and us.
Immigration decisions turn on the specific facts of an individual case, and the law and published guidance change. Before you act, confirm your position with a licensed immigration attorney, your university's Designated School Official, or the relevant government agency.
We are not affiliated with USCIS, the Department of Labor, the Department of State, the Department of Homeland Security, the IRS or any other government agency, and we do not represent them.
3. Accuracy and sources
We write from primary government sources and cite them on each article. Where an official source does not state a figure, we say so in the text rather than filling the gap from elsewhere. That is the editorial standard we hold ourselves to.
Even so: rules change, pages are updated, and we may be wrong. Figures, dates, fees and processing times are especially prone to going out of date. Always check the official source linked at the bottom of an article before relying on anything.
If you find an error, please tell us through the correction form. We would rather fix it.
4. How you may use the site
You may read, print and share our articles for your own personal, non-commercial use, and link to them freely.
You may not:
- republish our articles in whole or in substantial part, on any site, app or AI service, without written permission;
- scrape or bulk-download the site, or use automated systems in a way that burdens it;
- remove or obscure our attribution, or present our work as yours;
- use the site to break the law, or to mislead anyone about their immigration position;
- attempt to interfere with the site's security or availability.
5. Intellectual property
The text, layout, design, illustrations and compiled datasets on this site are ours and are protected by copyright. "BeInCareer" and our logo are our marks.
Some material we present is US government data — for example figures drawn from the Department of Labor's disclosure files and the Department of Education's College Scorecard. US federal government works are generally not subject to copyright. Our selection, cleaning, arrangement and presentation of that data is our own work.
Names of companies, universities and government agencies belong to their owners. We use them descriptively. Nothing on this site implies that any of them endorses us.
6. Third-party links and tools
We link to government sites, employers' sites and our own related properties, including beincareer.in, where free career tools are offered. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, which govern your use of them.
We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. A link is not an endorsement.
7. Advertising
This site carries advertising, which is how it is funded. We do not control which specific ads are shown, and an ad appearing here is not a recommendation by us. Be particularly careful with advertisements for immigration services, and verify any provider independently.
How advertising affects your data is covered in our Privacy Policy.
8. Complaints and removal
If you believe something here infringes your copyright, contains your personal data, or is factually wrong, use the content removal form. It explains what a copyright notice has to contain and how we handle each type of request.
9. Liability
The site is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude warranties that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
We are not liable for loss you suffer from relying on general information here — including a missed filing deadline, a refused application or a lost job opportunity. That is precisely why section 2 asks you to confirm your position with a licensed attorney or the agency before you act.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Changes and availability
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change. We may also edit, move or withdraw articles, and the site may be unavailable at times.
11. Governing law
We operate from India and publish for an international readership. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over disputes about them.
If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights you have under the mandatory law of the country you live in.
